  Melting touch 2022 14in Drawing with colored pencils and felt-tipped pen “Our skin is a kind of space in which we maneuver through an atmosphere of horse gases, cosmic rays, radiation from the sun, and obstacles of all sorts.” (Page 54) A Natural History of the Senses by Diane Ackerman  For "Melting Touch" I put a bit more of my personality into it. I related to what Ackerman wrote about in her "Natural History of the Sense."  I wear my skin, my clothes, as a shield against the world and it protects me. I chose to use different colors to symbolize different touches, like green being the softness of grass or blue being the coolness of the water. The use of different pieces of acrylic creates a rough surface with some pieces being more elevated than others. The repetition in this piece has also created a sense of unity.

  1) A lite strawberry candle that is my favorite smell. Strawberry candies, smells, and items are always some of my favorite things.  2.) Swift Heart Care bear Cousin. I love all old cartoons and really any cartoons in general. I have a plethora of nostalgic items all over my home. 3.) pink and blue blanket. I thrifted this blanket from good will with my mom, the blanket isn’t very soft but it is an item I like laying on.  4.) Pink Rose Quarts. Pink is a favorite color of mine and rose quarts are a protective stone. My mom has always made me keep one in my room and give me a comforting feeling.  5.) The heart shaped bottle filled with shells represents the sea. My entire life I have lived near some kind of ocean, most my life I have lived in California and just recently moved to Florida.  6.)
